Heathkit SB-401 Transmitter
A classic! The SB-401 is a tube based ham band transmitter. It covers the 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter bands. The modes supported are LSB, USB, CW and AM. Rated at 100 watts out. It can function as a transceiver when mated with a Heathkit SB series receiver. Electrical condition: non-functional. No grid or plate current showing on front panel meter. No power shown into a power meter. The unit is not totally dead because when I go into tune mode I can hear the signal on my current transceiver located about 30 feet away. Also the front panel meter shows the normal 800 volts high voltage. This rig was working the last time I tried it about 10 years ago. Hmmmm. Physical condition: VERY good shape with no chips that I can find. Needs a good cleaning inside, a light cleaning on the outside. This is a rig that with some work you'll be proud to own! The original manual containing construction, alignment, operation, and theory info is included. So are the schematics. Back to
