So you've got DirecPC up and running on a network. Depending on the router software you're using you may have found out that you can only access the news feeds on the system that is running Personal News Server.

Enter NewsSpoof. NewsSpoof is a handy little program that you can run on the system that's running Personal News Server. It spoofs PNS into thinking that the requests received from one of the LAN attached systems are coming from 'LocalHost'.

NewsSpoof is NOT a news server. It can handle requests from one system at a time. When one system disconnects from NewsSpoof another system can connect. This is a limitation of PNS as well as NewsSpoof.

NewsSpoof is unsupported freeware. I wrote it for my own use and it's been running for over a month with no problems found. No further enhancements are planned but I am open to ideas. If any major problems are uncovered I will try to fix them as time allows.
