Processor Technology CUTS Tape IO BoardThe Processor Technology Computer User Tape System (CUTS) was one of the major cassette tape IO standards back in 1976. It not only supported the "Kansas City Standard" but also provided a proprietary tape format that ran at a blazing 1200bps using an ordinary cassette recorder. Two cassette recorders could be used simultaneously with each having its own motor on/off control. I tested this board out on 05/15/99 and it works fine. Not only could I write and then read the data back, I was also able to read files from a tape I created in 1981. I built this card myself from a kit many years ago.
The original Assembly and Test Instruction manual is included.
This board was priced at $87 in kit form or
$119 assembled according to the March 7, 1977 Processor Technology price
list.
